Want To Save Money On Your Heating Bill?
One of the first ways we decided to save money on our heating bill was to look into getting a wood burner. This is not an easy task. There are many out there to choose from. We first wanted to install an indoor wood burner. But we have four small children so we thought an outdoor wood burner would be better.
We scanned over the internet, visited some local dealers, and made some phone calls. We even went out to a dealers house to see his wood burner in action. This was about an hour away. You really have to be picky because these are huge investments. They can range from a couple thousand to ten thousand dollars.
Every dealer has something different to say. Every heater has one thing another does not have. You need to also sit down and make a list of what you want out of it. This was when the salesman is giving you their pitch..you can check things off your list of ask questions.
AND…if they make a promise about something, get it in writing! When we purchased ours we paid up front. We had the receipt and all. But the salesman said that that was the total..and after it was all said and done we got another bill at the end of the project for another $1,300! Paying up front is great.. but make sure they write on the bill “Paid In Full”. That way another charge will not sneak up on you when you least expect it!
